Overview
ProofTime (“the App”) is developed by OpenRowan Studio. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and where it is stored.
Short version: All your proof records stay on your device. We access your camera and location only to create the records you request. Nothing leaves your phone except anonymous crash reports.
Data We Access
Camera & Photo Library
ProofTime requires camera access to capture timestamped photos and videos as proof records. You may also select existing photos from your photo library. These images are stored locally on your device and in your iCloud Photos if you have iCloud Photos enabled. We do not upload images to our servers.
Location
ProofTime requests location access to embed GPS coordinates into your proof records. This makes records more reliable and legally defensible. Location data is stored as part of the proof record on your device only. We do not track your location in the background or collect location history.
Crash Reports
We collect anonymous crash reports to identify and fix bugs. These include device model, iOS version, and a crash stack trace. They contain no personally identifiable information and no proof records.
What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifiers
- We do not upload your photos, videos, or proof records to our servers
- We do not track your usage patterns or behavior
- We do not use advertising networks or analytics SDKs
- We do not share any data with third parties
Data Storage
All proof records (photos, videos, timestamps, GPS coordinates) are stored exclusively on your device’s local storage and, if enabled by you, synced via iCloud under your own Apple ID. OpenRowan Studio has no access to your iCloud data.
iCloud Sync
If you use iCloud, your proof records may sync across your Apple devices via your personal iCloud account. This sync is between you and Apple, governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children’s Privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this page when our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes.
