Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of cards can I track?
Petal supports four types: punch cards (deducted by visit count), stored-value cards (deducted by amount), time-based passes (monthly/yearly, unlimited visits within the validity period), and one-off expenses (a simple record not tied to any card).
How do I log a visit?
Open a card and tap “记一次” (Log a visit). Punch cards deduct visits, stored-value cards deduct the amount you enter, and time-based passes simply record the visit. You can add the service, technician, a rating, and a note.
What do the reminders mean?
Petal watches your cards for three things: running low (2 or fewer visits left on a punch card), expiring soon (a pass ending within 7 days), and going dormant (no visit for 30+ days — so a card doesn’t quietly go to waste). It can also suggest booking your next appointment based on your usual visit rhythm. Each reminder type can be turned off in Settings.
Is my data private? Where is it stored?
All data lives on your device. There is no server and no account. If you enable iCloud backup, your data also syncs to your personal iCloud — which we cannot access. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I move my data to a new iPhone?
Enable iCloud backup before switching. When you sign in to the same Apple ID on the new device and install Petal, your cards and records come along.
Can I change the language or currency?
Yes — Settings lets you pick the display language (or follow the system) and the currency symbol used for amounts.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
