Overview
Petal (“the App”) is developed by Leilei Zhang. Petal helps you keep track of prepaid membership cards — punch cards, stored-value cards, and time-based passes — for salons, gyms, spas, and other stores. This page explains what data the App handles and where it lives.
Short version: Everything you record in Petal stays on your device (and in your own iCloud, if you enable backup). There is no server, no account, and no analytics. We don’t know who you are, which stores you visit, or what you spend.
Data You Enter
Petal stores the information you enter — store names, card details, visit logs, spending amounts, appointments, and ratings — locally on your device. This data is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
iCloud Backup
If you enable iCloud backup, your data syncs across your Apple devices via your personal iCloud account. This sync is between you and Apple, governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. Leilei Zhang has no access to your iCloud data.
Face ID / App Lock
If you turn on the app lock, unlocking is handled entirely by iOS on your device. The App never sees, stores, or transmits your biometric data.
Notifications
Reminders (low balance, expiring cards, dormant cards, upcoming appointments) are local notifications generated on your device. No push server is involved.
Crash Reports
We collect anonymous crash reports to help us fix bugs. These include your device model, iOS version, and a crash stack trace. They contain no personally identifiable information and none of your card or spending data.
What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, location, or contact information
- We do not track your usage or behavior
- We do not use advertising networks or analytics SDKs
- We do not send your cards, visits, or spending data off your device
- We do not require an account or login
- We do not share any data with third parties
Children’s Privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13.
