Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add a new project?
Tap the + button in the top-right corner of the main screen. Enter a project name and tap Add. Two default counters (“Main Rows” and “Pattern Repeats”) are created automatically so you can start counting right away.
How do I add more counters to a project?
Open your project, then tap Add Counter at the bottom of the screen. Give it a name and set an optional step size.
What is the step size?
The step size controls how much the counter changes with each tap. A step of 1 (default) increases or decreases by 1. Set it to 2 to count every other row, or any number that matches your pattern.
How do I undo a mis-tap?
An Undo bar appears at the bottom of the screen immediately after each count change. Tap it within 5 seconds to reverse the last action. This works for both increment and decrement.
Why does the screen stay on while I’m counting?
KnitCount keeps the screen awake by default so you don’t have to wake your phone mid-row. You can toggle this with the lock icon in the toolbar — tap it to allow normal screen timeout.
How do I rename or reset a counter?
Long-press any counter card to open the edit sheet. You can rename the counter, change its step size, or reset its value to 0.
Will my counts be lost if I close the app?
No. KnitCount saves your counts automatically after every tap. Close the app, take a call, put your phone down — everything will be exactly as you left it when you return.
How do I delete a project?
On the main project list, swipe left on any project to reveal a Delete button. This will also delete all counters belonging to that project.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
