Overview
HiveLog (“the App”) is developed by Leilei Zhang. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and where it is stored.
Short version: Your beekeeping data stays on your device. We do not collect your personal information or hive logs. Everything is stored locally.
Data We Access
Local Storage (SwiftData)
HiveLog uses Apple\s SwiftData framework to store your hive information, inspection records, and health data locally on your device. We do not have access to this data.
Location (Optional)
You may manually enter a location for each hive (e.g., “Back Garden”). This information is stored as plain text as part of your hive record on your device only. The App does not track your real-time GPS location.
Crash Reports
We may collect anonymous crash reports to identify and fix bugs. These include device model, iOS version, and a crash stack trace. They contain no personally identifiable information and no hive data.
What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifiers.
- We do not upload your hive logs, inspection notes, or health data to our servers.
- We do not track your usage patterns or behavior.
- We do not use advertising networks or analytics SDKs.
- We do not share any data with third parties.
Data Storage
All beekeeping records (hive details, inspections, health status) are stored exclusively on your device\s local storage and, if enabled by you, synced via iCloud under your own Apple ID. Leilei Zhang has no access to your iCloud data.
iCloud Sync
If you use iCloud, your hive logs may sync across your Apple devices via your personal iCloud account. This sync is between you and Apple, governed by Apple\s Privacy Policy.
Children\s Privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this page when our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes.
